Monster Island, the Asylum's 2019 mockbuster, was released around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The film tells the story of an island named after the island, where a monster lives.


Because the budget for this asylum film is so low (about the equivalent of a large children’s meal), they chose to shoot only a few scenes and all of the key moments with the cast's A-listers during lunch. Remember, however, that this is a kaiju film, and that's basically of how things go, so maybe The (new updates) Asylum won't do too badly with it.
